Rahane to lead India in Zimbabwe, Dhoni and Kohli rested

Ajinkya Rahane was chosen as captain of the depleted Indian team for the limited overs tour to Zimbabwe next month as the selectors decided to rest several seniors including Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.


Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Ravichandran Ashwin were also given a break, while pacer Umesh Yadav was named in the India 'A' squad that will participate in a tri-series against Australia 'A' and South Africa 'A' to be held in Chennai and Wayanad from July 19.


India will play three ODIs and two T20s in Zimbabwe, starting on July 10.
