Char Dham yatra suspended as rain lashes Uttarakhand

In the wake of frequent spells of rain which have lashed all parts of Uttarakhand ever since monsoon officially arrived in the hill state on Wednesday, Char Dham yatra at Kedarnath, Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib has been suspended.

The yatra has been suspended for at least three days while no more pilgrims are allowed to proceed from Rishikesh. "The resumption of the yatra will depend on weather. Same goes for Badrinath and Hemkund," Rudraprayag district magistrate Raghav Langhar said.
