Of the thirty seven people who were killed in an attack near two hotels in the Tunisian resort town of Sousse, five were British nationals say BBC reports.

A dozen more people were reported to have been hospitalised. The attack is in the vicinity of the Imperial Marhaba Hotel.

According to the BBC, at least one gunman has been shot dead and another is being pursued, officials say.

An armed man "entered through the back of the hotel and opened fire", said Tunisian Interior Ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Aroui.
