Mumbai: 100 state transport buses to offset June 17 auto strike

Around 100 state transport buses, along with BEST buses, will be pressed into service on Wednesday to offset the effects of the auto strike.

ST buses at the Mumbai Central depot will offer services till Panvel, Borivli and Thane from Dadar, Churchgate and Mumbai Central.

Buses from Parel, Kurla and Thane will operate on the Dadar-Borivli, Kurla-Thane, Thane-Mumbai Central and Thane-Dadar routes.

To avoid the disruptive effect of strikes on commuters in the future, the ST is planning to buy double-deckers.

State transport minister Diwakar Raote says the plan is being discussed at the administrative level.
