Goa Congress has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking removal of state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar from the state cabinet over his controversial remarks on gangrape of two Delhi-based women.

"We condemn the recent extremely insensitive statements made by the BJP-led government's Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar with respect to gangrape in Goa," the letter by Durgadas Kamat, secretary of Goa Pradesh Congress committee, says.

Two Delhi-based women, holidaying in Goa, were allegedly waylaid and raped by five men last week. All the five were later arrested.
