Uber molestation case: Accused driver arrested in Gurgaon. Six months after a rape in a Uber taxi that left Delhi in shock, another driver from the same service has been accused of molesting a woman.


The driver reportedly has a valid public service vehicle badge and commercial licence issued in Delhi.


The Gurgaon police on Monday evening received a complaint from the woman over an email, narrating the incident.


"In the complaint, the woman has alleged that she took an Uber cab from Pacific Mall in Delhi to Suncity in Gurgaon during which the incident took place', said Rajesh Kumar, ACP (crime).


The harassed woman further alleged that after she got off the cab around 10.40 pm, the accused driver forcibly kissed her hand, Kumar said. An FIR has been lodged at Sector 56 police station.


The accused driver has been identified as Vinod, aged between 40 and 45. He is a resident of Delhi and lives there with his wife and daughter.

According to police, the woman had gone to meet her friends in C-block of Suncity. Her friends are said to have witnessed the incident.


Police said when the car reached the destination, the driver too got off the cab and expressed his desire to shake hands with the woman passenger.


He wanted to shake hands with her and she offered her hand. He shook it and kissed it as well. However, when she tried to withdraw and pick up her bag, he tried to pull her towards him, an official said.
