Yakub Memon hanged in Nagpur Jail

1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon was hanged in Nagpur jail on Thursday morning, a couple of hours after the Supreme Court dismissed his last-minute attempt to escape the gallows by rejecting his plea for a stay on the death warrant.

The jail doctor will certify him dead in next 30 minutes.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will make an official announcement in this regard at 11 am

Memon's body will reach Mumbai at 2 pm.
