India, Kyrgyzstan united by bonds of shared democratic values: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India and Kyrgyzstan are united by the bonds of shared democratic values and seek a peaceful and secure neighbourhood, in the time of challenges in the region.

"We are united by the bonds of shared democratic values. We can reinforce each other's economic progress. We seek a peaceful and secure neighbourhood, in the time of challenges in the region. Have shared interests to combat terror and extremism," said Prime Minister Modi.

"I am delighted that our Election Commissions have signed an agreement on cooperation," he added.

The prime minister further said he was pleased to meet Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev, whose contribution to democracy and development is admirable.
