Martyred Col MN Rai to receive Guard of Honour today

Colonel MN Rai of the Rashtriya Rifles, who died on Tuesday during a fierce encounter with militants in south Kashmir's Tral area, will be accorded the Guard of Honour today in the nation's capital.

Col Rai was part of the troops who had surrounded a home in Handoora village after receiving information that militants were staying there. Fierce gun battle broke out between the groups during which Rai was injured. He was taken to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
