Shobha Warrier/Rediff.com meets the parents of Major Mukund Varadarajan who was killed during an operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on April 25, 2014.

He was awarded the Ashok Chakra, India's highest award for courage in peacetime, for his supreme sacrifice.His wife Indu received the award.
