Kejriwal poorer by Rs 2 lakh, gains in FIRs

AAP chief, Arvind Kejriwal, is nearly poorer by Rs 2 lakh since last year's national election but he has gained more FIRs or police complaints in his name.

Kejriwal today declared assets worth a little over two crores while filing his nomination papers to contest next month's Delhi election.

The amount is less than the Rs. 2.14 crore he had declared seven months ago, when he challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi and lost the election.

True to his "aam aadmi" or common man image, Kejriwal reported that he has no car and his bank account has dropped from four lakh rupees last year to Rs. 2.28 lakh now.

His assets include a flat near Delhi worth Rs. 56 lakh, his wife Sunita's flat in Gurgaon worth Rs. 1 crore and inherited property worth Rs. 37 lakh. The Kejriwals also have gold worth nine lakh rupees and silver worth Rs. 50,000. -- NDTV
