Jadavpur University VC resigns after Mamata meets fasting students

Jadhavpur University Vice Chancellor Abhijit Chakraborty resigned today after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who along with State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, met the fasting students.

Thirteen students of the university have been on a hunger strike since January 5 with a five-point charter of demands including the resignation of the VC whom they hold responsible for the police crackdown on them during a gherao on September 17 night.
