Former Punjab CM Beant Singh's assassin arrested in Thailand

In a major breakthrough, former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh's assassin Jagtar Singh alias Tara has been arrested in Thailand.
Acting on the tip-off, a secret operation was conducted by Indian central agencies in tandem with the Thai authorities that led to the arrest of the self-styled chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force. He was arrested from the house of one Khalat Bari, who had been sheltering Tara at the behest of Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence, sources told The Hindustan Times.
Tara, the long-time fugitive, was on the run since 2004 when he along with other assassins of Beant Singh, namely Jagtar Singh Hawara, Paramjit Singh Bheora and their accomplice Dev Singh, had made a sensational escape from the high-security Burail Model Jail in Chandigarh after digging a tunnel.
