Just in: The St Joseph's church in Mangalore has been attacked. Reports say that the window panes of the church were broken. Details awaited.Five churches have been attacked in New Delhi in the last two months.

On February 5, a church in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj area was vandalised in the early hours. Expressing grave concern, the Union Home Ministry wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner asking for a detailed report on the police action so far in other such attacks and seeking details of security provided to other religious places.

Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came out strongly against attacks on churches in Delhi, while speaking at a church event in the capital.

Strongly condemning recent attacks on churches, PM Modi assured the Christian community that the government would 'act strongly' without tolerance for fanaticism of any kind.
