Govt clampdown on Parliament coverage

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has instructed finance minister Arun Jaitley and other union ministers to give interviews to Doordharshan, All India Radio, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV channels only. Private TV channels will have to take their feed from these government-run channels. Union ministers are only allowed to speak to private TV channels a day later. Understandably, this has upset private TV channels who have more
viewership than DD.
