Mamta's close aide arrested over fraud charges

Shibaji Panja, an associate of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who accompanied her to Bangladesh, was detained at the Kolkata airport on his return on Saturday night.

Panja is a small-time businessman who has become increasingly close to the chief minister over the past years and is often seen around her in various programmes.

According to sources, he was detained at the airport's immigration counter after he returned to Kolkata with the CM's entourage, and then handed over to the NSCB airport police station.
