Nearly Rs 1.5 crore for PM's suit as auction ends today

The bidding price for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suit has shot up to nearly Rs 1.5 crore. Mukesh Patel, a diamond merchant, has outbid everyone so far in the race to own suit with the PM's name woven into it in pin-stripes.

Patel, who had earlier offered Rs. 1.39 crore for the suit, but has raised it to Rs. 1.48 crore.

Modi's bandhgala suit, worn during last month's meeting in Delhi with President Barack Obama, is among 450 items that are being auctioned in Surat, Gujarat. The money will be used for the PM's project to clean the Ganga.
