Why this AAP veteran is angry
February 12, 2015  18:54
Prof Kamal Mitra Chenoy, a founder-member of the Aam Aadmi Party, is unhappy that the party is deviating from its basic ideology.

In a personal note to chief minister-elect Arvind Kejriwal, he has suggested six points for course correction.

Chief among them is to remove the coterie around Kejriwal, and also to not go in for a confrontation with the Centre for at least two years.

Chenoy, who authored the fledgeling party's political agenda in 2013,  is disgusted by what he says is the younger elements taking control of Kejriwal.

At its first Cabinet meeting, Chenoy wants the first resolution to focus on land acquisition around Delhi.

A staunch CPI man, Chenoy left the communists to join AAP when it was formed. Today, he is a disgruntled man -- rather like Shanti Bhushan.

But despite his angst, insiders say that AAP may field Chenoy for the Rajya Sabha next year.
