Italy cracks down on foreign fighters after Paris attacks

Italy's government is cracking down on foreign fighters in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks, passing a decree that allows police to mount surveillance operations for suspected jihadis and provides stiffer jail terms for recruits.

The decree passed late Tuesday also targets the so-called "lone wolf" terrorists who train themselves, since current legislation punishes only fighters trained by third parties.
