Costa Concordia captain Schettino sentenced to 16 years in prison

Francesco Schettino, the captain of the Costa Concordia cruise ship that hit rocks off the Tuscan island of Giglio in 2012, was jailed for 16 years on Wednesday for his role in the disaster.

Dubbed "Captain Coward' by the Italian media, Schettino, 54, was found guilty of multiple counts of manslaughter, abandoning ship and causing a maritime disaster
