BJP-PDP to form government in Jammu & Kashmir

Sources confirm that the BJP and the PDP have agreed to government formation in Jammu& Kashmir with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the next CM of J&K and Nirmal Singh likely to become the Deputy CM. 

"CMship was never bone of dispute," sources say.

Sources confirm that the PDP & BJP have reached an agreement on a common minimum programme including contentious issues such as Article 370 & AFSPA. Government formation likely to take place by next week.

Sources also said that, "Formal talks between BJP & PDP will precede formal announcement of alliance set for on Tuesday/Wednesday. These talks will be helmed by 5 member teams from both sides."

The PDP has 28 and the BJP 25 seats in the state assembly. The National Conference won 15 seats and its former ally, the Congress 12. Seven seats went to independents and smaller parties.
