12 engineers flee after killing of two colleagues in protection money racket in Bihar

Twelve of fifteen engineers fled from the base camp of a private road construction company in Bihar's Darbhanga districts and quit their jobs after two engineers of the company were shot dead by unidentified criminals, reports M I Khan.

"Fear is such that most of the engineers- 12 of 15 fled and quit their jobs following killing of two engineers of the company for not paying levy (rangdari) to a notorious gang" chief project manager B K Jha of BSCC&C joint venture Ltd said.

It is not only engineers ,who have fled and quit jobs,frightened workers in lagumber also fled the base camp after murder of two engineers."In last few days,250 of 400 workers of the company fled and quit their jobs due to fear of the killing of two engineers"Jha said.
