AIADMK MPs, leaders to donate month's salary for flood-relief work

Extending support to those affected by the Chennai floods, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has directed all of her party's MPs and MLAs to contribute a month's salary towards flood-relief work. The CM addressing the affected said, "I will always stand by you, no need for any concern."

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa urged the central government to sanction Rs 10,250 crore towards rehabilitation of the flood affected in the state. Jayalalithaa also sought a special package of Rs. 750 crore to build 50,000 tenements for families living in slums in Chennai Metropolitan Area.
