Reports say there may be a possible relief for Salman Khan in the hit-and-run case as the Bombay HC may dismiss key witness Ravindra Patil's statement in the case. The high court is undecided about depending on Salman's Ravindra Patil's statement, who was then Salman Khan's bodyguard and whether it was an accident or a case of irresponsible driving that led to the death of one person. The sessions court was heavily dependent on Patil's observations.
Ravindra Patil consistently maintained until his death that it was Khan behind the wheel that night. Patil was a Mumbai police constable who had been assigned as Khans bodyguard and was sitting beside the actor when he ran over five sleeping pedestrians, one of whom succumbed to his injuries. Patil died in 2007.
