Delhi to witness 25,000 weddings today

Brace yourself for a manic Monday, with Delhi set to witness the highest number of weddings this season.Wedding planners say that around 25,000 weddings will be solemnised in the national capital region as it is considered an auspicious day.

"This period is called Ansuya Lagan. During this phase, Rahu, Ketu and Shani will not interfere with any other planet. And that is very auspicious ,' says Pandit Shyam Dutt Pokhriyal.Yogesh Khantwal, a city-based wedding planner, who himself is managing three, said the total number of weddings could be around 25,000.

"If Delhi-NCR is divided into north, east, south and west, there are around 200 farmhouses in every zone. Every farmhouse has two-three venues. Other than this, there are hotels, community centres, public grounds and lawns. All this amounts to more than 25,000 weddings,' says Khantwal.
