The Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, Mumbai's premier Tamil cultural organisation, has decided to raise money from among its patrons for Tamil Nadu's flood relief.

"Chennai has drowned in a flood of misery and is facing a severe crisis. It's time to act. Let us all get together and tell our friends that we are behind you, let us contribute at this critical time," the Sabha's president, Dr V Shankar, said.

Cheques/DDs can be drawn in favour of: "SSFA&SS - Tamil Nadu Relief Fund" and forwarded to the Sabha's office in Matunga or the money can be transferred directly to SSFA&SS's SB A/c No. 402617518 at Indian Bank, Kings Circle branch, Mumbai (IFSC IDIB000K038). Section 80-G certificates will be issued for the contributions.

The Sabha will hand over the funds collected to the Tamil Nadu government as Mumbai's contribution, Shankar said.
