AR Rahman prays for people's safety after heavy rains in TN

Music composer AR Rahman today expressed his concern for the safety of people in Chennai, as heavy rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu.

Most areas of Chennai witnessed water logging severely disrupting train and bus services.

The 48-year-old Oscar-winning music director, also known as Mozart of Madras, was born in Chennai.

"Oh god, please keep my Chennai and its people safe from the floods," he posted on his Twitter page.

The death toll in the rain related incidents has so far touched 188, according to the state government.
