Under-treatment prisoner opens fire at NIMHANS in Bangalore; shot dead by cops

An under treatment prisoner at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bangalore snatched a fire arm from a police guard and opened fire in the hospital premises.

Reports indicate that the situation under control, no casualties.

The gunman, identified as Vishwanath, was chased away into an empty room, which was immediately latched from the outside.

Police opened fire at the prisoner after which he was brought to hospital where he was declared dead.
