Encounter in Pulwama ends, 2 militants killed

Two militants were killed in a fierce encounter in south Kashmir's Pulwama district today, Mukhtar Ahmad/Rediff.com reports.
A senior police officer said militants fired at the security forces in the Ratnipora village yesterday evening triggering an encounter. Heavy army and police reinforcements were rushed to the area which has paddy fields and orchards.
A massive search operation was launched jointly by the army and police.
"The search were mounted after the entire area was cordoned off by the security forces. Intermittent firing exchange of gunfire continued and the bodies of two militants have been recovered, " a senior police officer said.
