The Udhampur police and the Intelligence Bureau are now interrogating Usman Khan, the terrorist believed to be from Paksitan, who was part of a group of three attacking a BSF convoy this morning.

Khan is believed to be in his early 20s and told the police that he is from Faisalbad in Pakistan. The terrorist was caught alive after he was overpowered by a group of villagers who he had taken hostage. The J-K police believe he may be part of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, the terror group responsible for the attack on the Indian Parliament in 2001.

Early reports say that Khan may have infiltrated into India around 10 days ago with the intention of carrying out a major strike in Jammu and Kashmir and may in fact have been part of the team that launched the attack in Gurdaspur, Punjab.

The team was split into two -- one to carry out the attack at Gurdaspur, while the other was meant to target the Amarnath Yatra.
