Mukhtar Ahmad reports: Two Border Security Force jawans and a terrorist were killed in an encounter that began after a convoy of the paramilitary force was ambushed near Sannuli Chenani on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway on Wednesday morning.

A senior police officer told Rediff.com that terrorists opened fire on the BSF convoy that was on its way to Srinagar, injuring four jawans.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the encounter site where firing is on intermittently.

According to the police officer, an Amarnath Yatra convoy had passed just moments before the BSF vehicle was targeted.
