Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram's car was fired upon in Karachi's Karsaz area on Wednesday, the former cricketer told Geo News.

The fast-bowler however remained safe in the attack.

Confirming the incident, Akram said that he was on his way to the National Stadium to attend a bowling camp when a vehicle rammed into his car from behind.

He said that some guards and the owner of the other vehicle came out and shot at Akram, barely missing him. The bullet hit his car's tires but he is unhurt.
