An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Swat awarded life imprisonment to 10 persons convicted for attempting to kill Malala Yousafzai. In September last year, militants behind the attack on Malala and two other school girls were arrested and identified.

Malala, who is now an education activist received the Nobel Peace Prize award along with Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi.

Yousafzai, 17, was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education and now lives in the UK. She is the youngest-ever recipient of a Nobel prize.
