Rajnath promises fair probe on farmer's suicide

The probe by the Delhi police on the suicide of a Rajasthan farmer at a rally here of Aaam Admi Party will be 'completely fair', Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today.

"I can assure you that the investigation will be completely fair," he told reporters here on the sidelines of a function. Asked about the possibility of conducting the probe through CBI, Singh said "let this probe be over first".

Earlier in the day, the Home minister told Parliament that he had ordered a time-bound probe by the Delhi police into the incident. Farmer Gajendra Singh from Rajasthan committed suicide at the rally in full public view in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Jantar Mantar.
