Cong insists on PM's statement

Jyotiraditya Scindia raises the objection to Giriraj Singh's comments and asks how can a minister be allowed to make such a remark. Mallikarjun Kharge says Giriraj Singh is a minister and the PM heads the council of ministers and should therefore apologise on his behalf.

BJP's Venkaiah Naidu says the party disapproves of Giriraj Singh's remarks and asks that it be discussed later. Naidu said the PM should not be dragged into this.

The Speaker asks that the session not be disrupted.
