Clashes between police and protesters intensify as police stalls Tral protest march in Srinagar.

After incidents of stone pelting by protesters, police has been firing tear gas shells on protesters in an effort to deter them from moving further.

Separatist groups staged protests in Srinagar and clashed with the police after they were stopped from congregating at Tral in South Kashmir.

Separatist leader Masarat Alam was arrested this morning in connection with the raising of Pakistani flags during a rally in Srinagar.
