The Jayalalithaa government in Tamil Nadu has added cement in its list of subsidised items. The state already has subsidized salt, canteens, seeds, medicines and most recently grooming kits for newborns made available at heavily discounted rates. The 'Amma Cement Scheme' will sell cement at low rates.
