To find Pistorius guilty of manslaughter Judge Masipa will have to determine that his conduct was negligent i.e could he have foreseen the consequences. Defence says the accused's disability made him feel vulnerable, which contributed to him arming himself with a firearm, the judge says. However, the explanation of his conduct is just that - an explanation. It does not excuse the conduct of the accused," says Judge Masipa.

The case has been adjourned for the day. The verdict is likely to be announced tomorrow.
