Govt couldn't respond because we didn't have one: Omar

Facing public anger over a perceived delay in rescue operations in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said "My government couldn't respond in the first 24 hours as we didn't have a government."

Abdullah's government has been criticized by people who are angry that relief efforts have reached them six days after the floods, the worst in the state in over a century. Read more
