The Muzaffarnagar police, Uttar Pradesh, has filed a chargesheet against BJP president Amit Shah in the Muzaffarnagar court over his alleged hate speech during the campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections.

Sources claim that the chargesheet has been prepared under serious sections of the IPC, which has punishment up to life imprisonment.

Shah was the BJP in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, when the incident took place. The Muzaffaranagar police expedited the charge sheet after he became the president of the party on July 9.
