Kashmir floods: 9500 in hospital, 57,000 rescued, 6 lakh stranded

Kashmir floods: Update from the Army, says that four Field Hospitals are now working at Awantipora, Anantnag, Pattan & Old Airfield, where over  9500 people are being treated.

Over 57,000 people have been rescued, while additional columns, boats and helicopters have been pressed into service to enhance evacuation. Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag says that the National Highway to Awantipora will be opened soon, but communication and connectivity remain the biggest challenge.
