20th Indian national jailed for 2013 Singapore riot

An Indian national was today jailed for 25 months and ordered to be given three strokes of the cane, becoming the 20th man to be charged for rioting during last year's worst street violence in 40 years in Singapore. 

Construction worker Chinnapa Govindarasu, 31, admitted to being part of an unlawful assembly with at least four others, whose aim was to overawe by show of criminal force along Race Course Road on the night of December 8.
