World Championships: Anand hangs on as Game 7 ends in a draw

Indian chess ace Viswanathan Anand and world champion Magnus Carlsen drew the seventh game at the World Championships in Sochi.

The Indian, having suffered a stunning loss in the sixth game played on Saturday, was on the defensive again but held on.

Having done well for the first five games, Anand missed the thread completely in the sixth before hanging on in the seventh.Anand still faces a deficit of one point after seven games. The Norwegian had defeated Anand in the world championships played in Chennai last year.
