Governors to ideate for union budget

President Pranab Mukherjee has convened a conference of governors between February 10-12 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

This is the first governors conference after the BJP government assumed office.

Since the conference will be held just before the 2015 Union Budget, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to get the views of governors about the economy and industrial growth of their respective state governments.

Apparently, it's a first. And so, the President's secretariat, the Prime Minister's Office and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs will work together to hold the Governors' Conference to recommend a plan of action to the Union Government.
