Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis tweets: The High Court today dismissed the writ petition challenging the validity of the new government of Maharashtra.
The 13-day-old BJP government headed by Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday won the confidence motion in Maharashtra assembly by a voice vote, amid protests by former ally Shiv Sena.
Both the Sena and the Congress said the government was illegitimate since the confidence motion was passed by a voice vote and said it amounted to "strangling democracy".
