Parrikar to file Rajya Sabha nomination from UP today

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to file his nomination papers for Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Parrikar is scheduled to file his nominations at around noon today at Vidhan Sabha.

The former Goa chief minister flew down to Lucknow yesterday, shortly after being sworn-in as a Union Cabinet minister in Narendra Modi's Council of Minister and was given .

He was accompanied by Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

While talking to reporters, Parrikar said that he was fortunate to represent UP in Rajya Sabha polls and would fulfil whatever responsibility is given to him.

Rajya Sabha polls in UP are scheduled to be held on November 20.
