Rediff.com's Sonil Dedhia reporting from Mumbai says, at Ruparel College, where counting is in progress, the mood of the Shiv Sena, which is a long time ally of the BJP is jubilant.

Eknath Shinde, the Congress candidate who has had a stronghold in Mumbai South Central, is trailing. The leading candidate here is Rahul Shewale of the Shiv Sena. Sensing the rout, hardly any Congress supporters are present near the counting centre.

Neither are the MNS supporters. Aditya Shirodkar of the MNS, who had received strong support from his party chief Raj Thackeray, is also trailing.
