Slow-moving queues, shoddy arrangements irk Varanasi voters
May 12, 2014  14:44
Vicky Nanjappa @ Varanasi: Some polling booths in Varanasi have witnessed protests over poor arrangements and voters slips not being distributed.

Polling started at 7 am and as the day progressed the number of people at the booths increased.

Many said voting slips had not been delivered home and after searching through the list many found their names.

The other issue was complaints about the heat and how the authorities had not even bothered to provide water or covered areas where people would have to queue up.
