So, this is Giriraj Singh's strategy to explain the Rs one crore cash stolen from his house and then recovered by the police. The senior BJP leader from Bihar said that the cash found at his home is not his.

"It belongs to a cousin. Giriraj Singh is clean, and will remain so," the politician said referring to himself in the third person.

Singh (51), courted controversy ahead of the Lok Sabha polls when he declared that critics of Narendra Modi, who was then the BJP's PM candidate, should move to Pakistan.

Singh's apartment in Patna was robbed this week and four men were arrested. The police said that they had handed over a crore along with 600 dollars in cash, expensive wrist-watches and jewelry, all of which they claimed had been taken from Singh's house.

In his election affidavit in May, Singh said he owns about Rs 2 lakh in cash.
