Watchman gets life term for killing Mumbai lawyer Pallavi Purakayastha

Just in: Life sentence for the man who killed lawyer Pallavi Purakayastha.  A Mumbai court sentenced Sajjad Ahmad Moghul, 22, to a life term, for assaulting, molesting and killing the young lawyer in her flat in 2012. Moghul, the watchman at Pallavi's apartment building, was found guilty by the court last week. During the hearing on the quantum of sentencing last week, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam had sought the death penalty for Sajjad.
